Like any town, Elgin has a lot of stuff going on, none of which everybody knows about. If you have something you think should be on the website, make sure you let us know. We definitely want EVERY business in town to have their own little section, so if you’re not on here yet, get in touch with Shawn so he can get your info. If we get some more things in the pipeline, we can get more things on here faster. Send your ideas to content@elginnd.com
Also, we want to have lots of pictures of Elgin. We have established a Flickr account specifically for that purpose. If you’re on Flickr, you can share your Elgin pics in the Elgin, ND group. Also, once you’re registered on Flickr (it’s free!), you can favorite the pictures you like best, easily share them with friends and family, and leave witty comments about them! Flickr is the first place we want you to go to share pictures, because it’s also free publicity, and can help drive web traffic right here to our official site! Alternatively, you can send your pictures to pics@elginnd.com, and we’ll do what we can to add them for you, but it might take awhile to do it.
We also have our own Facebook page! This is also a great way to get us some free publicity, so Facebook users (also free), please go there and become a fan. It’s a work in progress, but feel free to start a discussion on there, write on our wall, and add a few pictures there too.
We have lots of stuff that will be added to this site, so we hope you keep coming back to see it all. We’re trying to make it super easy for you to share Elgin with your friends, from Flickr, to Facebook, to the lovely ‘Share With Your Friends’ section in the lower left of this post, just click an icon to share this post at the place of your choice. You’ll also notice that we have some cool orange guys in the sidebar. One of them wants you to sign up with email, one of you wants you to subscribe to our RSS feed. Either way, if you forget to visit the website, they’ll make sure you get the latest info that we put up here.
We hope you like what you see, it’s taken several months to get to this point, as we had several major upgrade processes to hurdle. Everything is falling into place now, so let us know what you think! Our comment section will allow Disqus and Facebook users to sign in with your existing accounts, and we encourage you to use them, so we can see your smiling face. We’re not leaving the rest of you out though, as you can still leave a comment, but you’ll have to wait for a moderator to approve your comment before it will display.
Welcome to Elgin!
