Time To Celebrate!

Once again the time has come to CELEBRATE, the annual Elgin Days Celebration will be held June 12-14 2009.  This year the Elgin Days Celebration is “Honoring our medical communities.”  The Celebration kicks off on Friday, June 12 with a Childern’s Theatre performance at the R.G. Beede Auditorium at 2:00 p.m.  Later on Friday there will be Hamburgers in the Park starting at 4:00 p.m. and the Variety Show will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Center.  The fun doesn’t stop there, the Annual Alumni Football  game will take place on the High School Football Field at 7:00 p.m.  After the game there will be a dance with music from A Avenue at Sieb’s Sports Bar.

Saturday is always filled with fun events.  The Heil rummage sale will be going from 8:00 a.m. till 3:00 p.m.  At 10:00 a.m. the Grand Parade will start to move down Main Street.   This years Parade Marshals are Rosie Barth and Dr. John and Mary Sanderson.  Other events for Saturday include: Four-Man Golf Scramble, Trycicle Races, Water Balloon Toss, Inflatable Activities, along with others.  At 6:00 p.m. on Saturday the Elgin Saddle Club Rodeo begins at the Rodeo Grounds.   After the Rodeo get your dancing shoes out for another round of dancing on Saturday night  as Nightlife Entertainment will be rocking the Elgin Community Center beginning at 8:30 p.m.

On Sunday the Elgin Saddle Club Rodeo continues at 2:00 p.m. and the Elgin Museum will open at 2:30 p.m. for tours.

Come to Elgin and help us celebrate at our annual Elgin Days Celebration and remember only one more year until Elgin turns 100!!!
